21/10/2016

It is with great pleasure that the Club announces the re-appointment of Adam Bruni as Super's Coach for the 2017 season.

This comes on the back of a successful 2016 season where the Supers finished just shy of the four on percentage and have a positive win-loss ratio.

Working with the new Football Manager Craig McKay Bruni is currently preparing plans for pre-season which should be starting in November. There will be more details to follow.

Congratulations to Adam Bruni on being appointed.

Committee Expanded, Co-Presidents Appointed

Constitutional change has seen the 2016 Committee installed in an expanded model at the Club's Annual General Meeting on Wednesday evening.

There were good numbers in attendance and there a very positive mood after the Annual Report was delivered which demonstrated to consecutive years of financial growth, improved onfield success and member engagement. CLICK HERE to view the 24th Annual Report.

The constitutional amendment led by Paul Turner enabled the Club an optional Co-President situation and further defined some of the roles on the Committee for clarity.

Both Salina Hick (Treasurer) and Nick Duryea (General Member) both made the decision not to re-stand for election. The significant contribution from both these individuals was acknowledged at the meeting.

The Executive Committee was formed as follows:

Co-President: Carlo Federico

Vice-President: Paul Turner
Treasurer: Frank Massara

The General Committee was formed as follows:

Football Manager: Craig McKay
Social Convener: TBA, Vacant
General Members: Vince Simeone
Theo Grimaldi
Sera Marinelli
Luca Pozzobon

Co-President: Tony Lombardi
Secretary: Pete Cummins

Sponsorship Manager: TBA, Vacant

Property Manager: Dave Pengelly
Ron Torcasio
Paul Pitman
Cedar Ferri
All in all it was a fantastic result for the club that will enable the vision to be driven forward with weight of numbers behind it.

As can be seen Paul Turner moved into the advisory and supporting role of Vice-President (which was vacated by Dave Pengelly) to the Co-Presidents Carlo Federico and Tony Lombardi. Frank Massara stepped up into the Treasurer's role vacated by Salina Hick.

Craig McKay moved into the official Football Manager role and Dave Pengelly moved in the Property Manager role.

Three new General Members Serafino Marinelli, Luca Pozzobon and Cedar Ferri joined while club stalwart Paul Pitman returned for other stint and will likely be the League Liaison officer.

Two All-Australians Named From Coburg

14/10/2016

While Queensland teams dominated the 2016 AFL Masters Carnival held on the Gold Coast from 2-8 October, there were two individuals representing Coburg Superules who were capped as All Australians, Ray Ransome (Over 60s) and Mark Gillman (Over 35s/40s).

Both joined this elite group when they were named at the official post-carnival presentation held at Sea World. It was a second cap for Ray Ransome who was also named in the Over 55s All Australian team in 2013. To see the honour roll for All Australians who have represented our Club,

Serafino Marinelli and Ben Matricardi also enjoyed team success with Vic Metro taking out the Over 50s Division 2 group.

Paul Pitman and Ray Ransome featured in the Over 50s Division 1 and Over 60s groups respectively who both finished runners up in their group.

Craig McKay, Paul Turner and Mark Gillman played in the highly competitive Over 35/40s Division 1 group and despite finishing third had some excellent highlights including an 8-goal victory over Tasmania in the last round.

Although not represented by Coburg Superules players, Vic Metro also won the Over 45's Division 2.

For the first time ever there were Masters Womens teams competing at the carnival which is very much in line with the AFL's vision on developing womens football.

There was an unofficial announcement that next seasons carnival will be held in the Geelong. Further information will follow as it becomes available.

Well done and congratulations to all those who represented Coburg Superules Football Club at the carnival and in particular to Razor and Gilly.
